Training

i+solutions (formerly IDA Solutions) provides training on all major issues related to the management of pharmaceutical supplies. Our goal is to help strengthen local knowledge so that current and future essential drugs programs can be implemented efficiently, safely, and cost effectively.

Training in Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Management

For over 10 years, we have regularly offered courses in close collaboration with partners such the World Health Organization (WHO), Management Sciences for Health (MSH) and Réseau Médicaments et Développement (ReMeD). Participants typically include physicians, pharmacists, senior health system managers and technical assistance professionals from nongovernmental and governmental organizations. Courses are taught in English or French.

Tailor-made Courses

We also offer tailor-made courses on specific topics as requested. Examples include:

  • Tailor-made programs in the field, e.g. lusophone courses 
  • Capacity building on specific supply chain management aspects
  • Assistance in the registration, production and distribution of orphan drugs
  • Lecturing at international seminars
  • Training of procurement staff and introduction to pre-qualification and limited international competitive bidding

Managing Drug Supply in Developing Countries
In cooperation with WHO

This course covers the complete Drug Management Cycle. Course objectives: to expose participants to modern management techniques of drug supply systems and to teach them how to apply them to their own specific situation - to provide practical tools to decision makers in essential drugs programs to improve their level of performance - to encourage the exchange of views and experiences between senior officers and decision makers.

Supply Chain Management of HIV/AIDS Medicines and Supplies

The course covers the Drug Management Cycle with emphasis on HIV/AIDS Project/Program management Course objectives: to expose participants to issues specific to planning the procurement and distribution of ARVs - provide program managers with skills in program planning and management - teach participants how to apply those skills in their own country - provide practical tools to decision-makers in essential medicine programs to improve their level of performance - exchange views and experiences between senior decision makers.

Monitoring and Evaluation of Antiretroviral Procurement and Supply Management Systems
In cooperation with WHO

Course objectives: to discuss the major issues surrounding M&E of ART-PSM systems such as accountability, continuous improvement, sharing of “lessons learnt” and “best practices” – to avoid duplication through encouraging single M&E systems at country and regional levels - to provide practical tools to decision makers and staff working in HIV/AIDS programs to ensure accountability and to improve their level of performance - to encourage the exchange of views and experiences between senior officers and decision makers.

ARV Access for Africa (AA4A) training

Mission
To provide pharmaceutical management skills and increasing local capacity for public health care initiatives to ensure access to quality health care services in low and middle income countries.

What ARV Access for Africa Pty Ltd stands for
ARV Access for Africa situated in Pretoria, South Africa a subsidiary of i+solutions in the Netherlands, was created to manage the three synergistic components namely: ARV buffer stock, provision of training in Supply Chain Management of HIV & AIDS medicines and supplies and provision of Capacity Building to national drug supply organisations in developing countries.
ARV Access for Africa also offers consultancy in the areas of pharmaceutical supply management to the non-profit sector.
